Relentless WGH police arrest 3 more in murder of ACHIK member

Tura, Feb 14: Continuing their relentless pursuit of those involved in the altercation that led to the murder of a member of ACHIK, Dilseng M Sangma, West Garo Hills (WGH) police arrested another three persons in the case leading to the total arrest of those involved to 13.

On Jan 9 this year, Dilseng was killed after a mob of miscreants attacked their vehicles while they were on their way back after a round of inspection of illegal stone quarries near the Wadagokgre area. They were attacked near the village of Goalgaon under Wadagokgre Aking. ACHIK members were in four vehicles that were returning from the site of the illegal quarry when the incident took place. Dilseng and another CSO colleague were seriously injured and rushed to the Tura Civil Hospital (TCH) where Dilseng succumbed to his injuries.

According to WGH police, 3 more absconding accused persons who were involved in Rajabala PS case have been arrested from different parts of Garo Hills and Tripura in the last few days.

On Feb 9, night during raid Gulbahar Sheikh, 45 yrs, was arrested from Bhaitbari while on Feb 11 Mominul Hoque, 40 yrs was arrested from Siddakandi both under Rajabala PS limits in WGH. On Feb 12 morning, WGH police team raided a house in Agartala, Tripura and arrested one of the main accused Mozidul Islam of Bhaitbari. The police team have returned back from Agarala this morning, Feb 14 and all the accused have been produced before the  Court
