MSF, the student wing of Congress ally IUML, has called for boycotting the upcoming film Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, while criticizing a “beef fest” organized by the CPI(M)-linked SFI in protest against the movie.
MSF state secretary C K Najaf argued that such an event could hurt Hindu sentiments, as many do not consume beef for religious or personal reasons and should not be labeled pro-RSS.
He stressed that protests should be constructive, respecting all faiths, and that forcing or celebrating the consumption of restricted foods violates human rights.
Najaf suggested alternative ways to oppose the film without provoking sections of society.
While acknowledging that films allowed by the government can be screened or awarded, he said boycotts are a more appropriate response.
Kerala Story 2, directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, is set to release on February 27. (PTI)
