ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Mumbai, Feb 23: Shimron Hetmyer lit up the Wankhede Stadium with a breathtaking 34-ball 85 as West Indies crushed Zimbabwe by 107 runs in their T20 World Cup Super Eights clash on Monday, registering one of the most dominant victories of the tournament.
Asked to bat first, the Caribbean side unleashed an assault that left Zimbabwe’s bowlers searching for answers. Hetmyer, in devastating touch, hammered seven sixes and seven fours to bring up the fastest T20 World Cup fifty by a West Indian, propelling his team to a staggering 254 for 6 — the second-highest total in the history of the competition.
After an early setback with Brandon King departing for 9, Hetmyer took charge. He found an able ally in Rovman Powell, and the pair stitched together a blistering 122-run stand off just 52 balls for the third wicket. Powell’s 35-ball 59, studded with four fours and four sixes, ensured the pressure never eased.Sherfane Rutherford remained unbeaten on 31, while Romario Shepherd struck a quickfire 21 and Jason Holder chipped in with 13 as West Indies crossed the 250-mark with authority.
