Book fair
The Office of the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner will organise the ‘West Jaintia Book Fair 2026’ on March 6 and 7 at the District Library, Mtynthong, Jowai. Themed ‘Celebrating Literature, Culture & Community’, the fair will feature book stalls, a reading nook, storytelling sessions and a book donation drive. As part of the event, an art and essay writing competition on the theme ‘People Who Made an Impact: Inspirational Figures from Meghalaya’ will be held on March 6, followed by a ‘Book Treasure Hunt’ on March 7. The competitions are open to all, with March 4 set as the deadline for online submissions. Interested candidates have been asked to email their entries to [email protected].
