MHRC gets new acting chairperson

SHILLONG, March 10: Governor CH Vijayashankar has authorised B. Giri to serve as the Acting Chairperson of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) until a permanent appointment is made.
According to an official order issued from Lok Bhavan, Shillong, Giri, who is currently the judicial member of the Commission, will discharge the responsibilities of the Chairperson under Section 25 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
