NEW DELHI, March 14: The first-ever Meghalaya Pavilion won a gold medal in the official category at the 40th edition of AAHAR, Asia’s premier food and hospitality trade fair, held at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday.
Organised by the state-owned Meghalayan Age Limited, the pavilion marked Meghalaya’s debut appearance at the prestigious event.
The exhibit featured indigenous organic agricultural produce, including Lakadong turmeric, wild honey, fresh strawberries, and black pepper, alongside traditional crafts. The pavilion attracted significant interest, aiming to connect local rural producers and entrepreneurs directly with national and international hospitality buyers and market players.
The Meghalaya Pavilion was inaugurated by Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary and Development Commissioner. Additional Resident Commissioner Sabrella Marak received the award on behalf of the state.
