SHILLONG: The Anthonian Youth Club (AYC) of St’ Anthony’s College organized an Anti-Tobacco Campaign which was held in the College auditorium on May 31.

The campaign had started with the inter school & inter college poster competition across the city from May 27-29. 13 institutions took part in the poster completion and Don Bosco Technical, School bagged the first prize in the event followed by ST’ Anthony’s College and St’ Anthony’s Higher Secondary School which emerged second and third respectively.

The prizes were handed over by Dr. L.L Sawian Director Health Services, MCH &FW who was also the chief guest on the occasion. The campaign was a student driven initiated supervised under the approval of the College and Professors in-charge of the AYC club in collaboration with National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), National Programme for prevention and control of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and stroke Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of Meghalaya and the office of DC, East Khasi Hills District.
