All high schools to have broadband connection in 2-3 years: Centre

New Delhi, March 25: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday said all high schools in India will have broadband internet connection within next 2-3 years. Replying to supplementary queries during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, the minister also emphasised that all kinds of education should be embedded with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He said the Centre and state governments are focusing on capacity building for teachers to impart AI knowledge. Pradhan said around 60 per cent of high schools in the country are connected with broadband internet connections. “By next 2-3 years all high schools in the country will be connected with broadband and internet connection,” he added. On the AI, the minister said the country is at the forefront in this technology. “AI is a horizontal topic. As on today, when we are implementing National Education Policy’s new curriculum…, primary knowledge of AI will be from class three,” Pradhan said, adding that almost all mother tongues are embedded with AI. Cong gets eviction notices for Akbar Road and Raisina Road offices

New Delhi, March 25: The Congress party has received notices from the Estate department to vacate its 24, Akbar road office and 5, Raisina Road premises in Lutyens Delhi by March 28, according to sources. The party faces eviction of its old party office, which it has held since 1978, as this is the final notice sent by the estate department. The party continues to have its headquarters at its Akbar Road office, while the Indian Youth Congress functions from the Raisina Road premises. The sources said that the notice was delivered a few days ago and has not even given a week’s time to the grand old party.Sources in the party said the Congress is yet to formulate its strategy on the issue and may even approach court in view of the sudden notice. While the party did not say anything officially, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said the government should apply its rule uniformly to all and not single it out. (PTI)
