SHILLONG, March 25: The Guwahati-based AANANDA Foundation has launched a grant initiative to support individuals and organisations working with children with disabilities across the Northeast.
Established in memory of Minati and Suresh Rajkhowa, the foundation aims to provide resources to those assisting children who are often marginalised. Trustees Professor Priyam Goswami and Dr. Gautam Rajkhowa stated that the initiative seeks to foster inclusive opportunities and help children aged 0-18 reach their full potential.
The foundation will award grants of up to Rs 75,000 to grassroots practitioners, scholars, and innovators. Applicants must be under 45 years of age. While they may reside outside the region, their work must demonstrate a direct impact on the Northeast.
Beyond financial aid, the foundation will provide mentorship and networking opportunities. To ensure the process is accessible to grassroots workers, applications are flexible and can be submitted in writing or as short audio/video presentations in any language.
The application cycle will continue until late 2026, with awards to be announced in early 2027. Since its launch two months ago, the foundation has already received 15 applications.
