Shillong, March 27: Cricket Smit and Friends United CC advanced to the next stage of the 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 with convincing wins.
In the first quarterfinal, Cricket Smit defeated Seng Samla Saitsohpen by 112 runs after posting 175/8, with Nikodomas Lyngwa scoring 62. The opposition were bowled out for 63, as Pynkhrawbok Thabah starred with 4/17 and was named Player of the Match.
In the second match, Friends United CC beat Seng Samla Mawriang Mawlong by seven wickets. After restricting them to 132, Friends United chased down the target in 12.2 overs, with Wansiewdor Lyndem top-scoring with 44 and earning the Player of the Match award.
