NEW DELHI, March 27: Recent rumours of a nationwide lockdown in India have been officially dismissed as completely false by the government.
The Centre on Friday clarified that there is no proposal under consideration for a lockdown or any restrictions on public movement or economic activity.
India has enough petrol, diesel and LPG stocks to last at least two months with normal delivery cycles, the government said.
India has about 60 days of oil stock and has arranged one full month of LPG supply, a government official said, adding that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG. Panic buying and long queues at petrol pumps and LPG distributors have been triggered by rumours, the official added. (PTI)
