Governor extends deadline for filing, disposition of claims

SHILLONG: In a notice issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, the Meghalaya Governor has informed that it has sought to modify and extend the time lines for filing and disposing of claims and objections during the Socio Economic and Caste Census 0f 2011 (SECC-2011).

The date scheduled for the publication of the final list for the Garo Hills District; East Khasi Hills District and the other remaining districts is June 20; June 11 and June 3, respectively. The dates for the publication of receipt of Appeals Petitions, for the above three divisions, in similar order, are June 27, June 10 and June 18.

The last date for the disposal of appeal and publication of addendum to final list for the Garo Hils District is July 11 and July 16, respectively. The same for East Khasi Hills is June 24 and June 30, while for other districts is July 3 and 8, 2014, respectively.

However, under East Khasi Hills, the dates only apply to rural areas and exlude Nongthymmai, Madanryting, Umpling, Mawpat, Nongmyngsong, Lawsohtun, Nongkseh, Umlyngka, Mawlai and Pythormukhra regions. The dates for the publication of the final list, receipt of Appeal Petitions, addendum to final list and the last date for the disposal of appeal in these regions are May 28, June 4, June 23 and June 18 respectively.
