Kidnapped woman untraced

SHILLONG: South West Khasi Hlls Police has said that the district police is still investigating into the kidnapping of a woman by three coal labourers in Kulang in South West Khasi.

The kidnappers had demanded Rs 50000 as ransom for her release.

The SP, D Sangma said that they are not sure whether the woman identified as Sumi Sinha has been kept in the residence of one of the accused in Sunamganj district in Bangladesh. Police so far has not been able to arrest anyone but, efforts are making efforts to locate the victim and the accused persons.
