Rajinikanth drops big update on Jailer 2!
Superstar Rajinikanth on Saturday dropped a big update on his eagerly awaited action entertainer Jailer 2, which is being directed by ace director Nelson Dilipkumar. Answering questions posed by mediapersons at the airport, Rajinikanth said that Jailer 2 was in its finishing stage. ‘The film (Jailer 2) is in its finishing stage. The production house will announce its date of release,’ he said. However, Rajinikanth just smiled in reply when mediapersons asked him what he would like to say to the people as elections were nearing. When asked when the film in which he was to act with Kamal Haasan was to begin, Rajinikanth replied, ‘That will happen in August.’ (IANS)
Andy Serkis confirms recasting of Aragorn in The Hunt for Gollum
Actor-filmmaker Andy Serkis has confirmed that the role of Aragorn will be recast in his upcoming The Lord of the Rings prequel The Hunt for Gollum. Serkis said the casting process was already underway, ruling out the return of acclaimed actor Viggo Mortensen, who played the iconic character in Peter Jackson’s original trilogy. ‘I don’t know what’s out there at the moment, but I know there’s a lot of speculation, but let’s just say we are recasting the role and we are on the way to finding someone,” he told Screen Rant. Serkis, who also reprises his motion-capture role as Gollum, is directing the film, which is set between The Hobbit trilogy and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. (PTI)
Panchayat makers kick off shooting for new season
The makers of the streaming series Panchayat have started filming for the upcoming 5th season of the show. On Friday, the makers took to their Instagram, and celebrated the 6th anniversary of the show, and officially announced the commencement of filming for the series’ much-awaited Season 5. The post features stills from the show and BTS moments. They wrote in the caption, “6 years of being in Phulera and never wanting to leave. #PanchayatOnPrime, New Season, Now Filming”. Since its debut in 2020, Panchayat has steadily grown into one of India’s most beloved series, winning hearts across seasons. Season 4, in particular, had captivated audiences. The new season of the fan-favourite show will drop on Prime Video. (IANS)
Peaky Blinders sequel first look out
The streaming giant Netflix has released a first look at the untitled sequel series to Peaky Blinders, starring Jamie Bell. He will star as Duke Shelby, the son of Cillian Murphy’s original lead character, Thomas Shelby, reported Variety. Duke was previously played by Barry Keoghan in Netflix’s sequel film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which was released last month, but Bell will play the gangster going forward. Stranger Things and Industry star Charlie Heaton will also lead the cast of the sequel series. Other cast members include Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski, according to Variety. The Peaky Blinders page shared the first look on Instagram. (ANI)

Kareena even gave fans a peek into her ‘soccer duties’ with a playful selfie.
