Minor boy killed in city road mishap

SHILLONG, April 6: A minor boy lost his life in a tragic road accident near Mahari Petrol Pump in Jaiaw Langsning on Monday evening.
According to sources, the boy was riding a bicycle at around 5:20 pm when he collided with a pick-up truck (ML05 AA 9263). He was rushed to Dr H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival due to severe head injuries.
Police said the truck, driven by Iaiban Nongbri of Umiam Damsite, from Lumdiengjri towards Mawlai was entering the petrol pump when the bicycle suddenly dashed into it from the left side. The boy was reportedly riding in a rash and negligent manner. A friend accompanying him jumped off in time and sustained only minor injuries.
