Shillong, April 8: Sputnik CC trounced Langsning CC by six wickets in their Group A Super 8 match of the 1st Late PA Sangma Memorial T20 Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Ground here on Wednesday.
Punit Bisht, who in past seasons led Meghalaya in BCCI domestic tournaments, scored a thunderous 90 not out in 55 balls as Sputnik reached 123/4 in 16.1 overs in response to Langsning’s 122/9 in 20 overs. Bamanbha Shangpliang had a good knock himself, making an unbeaten 54 from 50 deliveries for Langsning but the team’s run rate of a little more than 6 an over was insufficient to challenge Sputnik.
