SHILLONG: An unidentified person forcefully snatched away a gold chain from a woman after he threw chilli power in her eyes. The incident took place near Railway Guest House Laban on Sunday afternoon.
Sources informed that the woman along with her six-year-old daughter from Oxford Hill was on her way to attend a feast at Shillong Vidyalaya School when the incident took place.
While they were walking at the road near Railway Guest, sources informed that the unidentified person who was coming from the opposite suddenly threw chilli power in the eyes of both the woman and the daughter.
“After this, he forcefully snatched the gold chain and then fled from the scene,” sources said while adding that the woman shouted for help but no one was there. The victim lodged an FIR at Laban police station.
