Lucy Liu talks about mystery role in The Devil Wears Prada 2
Actor Lucy Liu says working with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada 2 was nothing but a reverie and is sure the film is going to be ‘highly entertaining’. The upcoming film is directed by David Frankel and is a sequel to the 2006 release with the same title. It was also directed by Frankel. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to release on May 1 and will have Streep and Hathaway reprise their roles. Liu said she has a ‘mysterious role’ in the film. ‘I think that’s what’s special about it…I think everyone’s looking forward to it,’ she told People in an interview. (PTI)
Britney Spears checks into rehab
Pop star Britney Spears has voluntarily stepped into a rehabilitation facility following her Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrest early last month, according to multiple press reports. The Grammy-winning pop star voluntarily admitted herself to rehab after she was arrested in California on March 4 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A statement to the press released by a representative for the singer obtained by deadline.com noted at the time, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.” (IANS)
Jr. NTR flaunts muscular back as he preps for his next film Dragon
Superstar Jr. NTR has upped his ante for his next film, tentatively titled Dragon, as he showcased his muscular back while prepping for the Prashanth Neel movie. Jr. NTR took to Instagram, where he shared a picture of himself. In the image, the actor’s back is towards the camera. He is shown flaunting his chiselled back and beefed up biceps as he posed for a picture at the gym. For the caption, he simply wrote: “Built. Not bought. #NTRNeel @kumarmannava @ntrneelfilm.” As per reports, the next shoot schedule for Dragon is expected to begin soon. Other details about the film are still underwraps. (IANS)
Offset returns to stage days after being shot
Rapper Offset made a return to the stage at the weekend, a few days after he was shot. The rapper was gunned down outside the Hard Rock Casino in Florida on April 6 but he took to the stage. He was performing again at Rowfest at the University of Arkansas recently. The rapper took to his Instagram, and shared a video of himself on the stage in a wheelchair before rising to his feet as the crowd cheered. During the show, the rapper wore a skeleton face mask, and appeared to stand for the performance. However, the chair was close to him in case he needed to rest. The 34-year-old rapper sustained “non-life threatening injuries” in the incident, and after being discharged from hospital, he promised to “be better” and focus on the things that matter. (IANS)
Bryan Cranston defends Skyler White’s character in Breaking Bad
Hollywood actor Bryan Cranston has come out in defence of his character’s wife Skyler White in the iconic series Breaking Bad. The character of Skyler White was played by Anna Gunn in the series, and was vilified by fans of the Vince Gilligan drama for getting in the way of Walter White’s criminal antics, reports ‘Variety’. During a recent appearance on ‘Hot Ones Versus’ opposite Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston was prompted to justify Skyler’s behavior after Muiz declared he “loved ‘Breaking Bad’” but “hated Skyler”. He said that “all she did was complain” and thought Walter’s life would’ve been “so much easier” without her. (IANS)
