TURA: The Government Branch Press Industrial Employees Association (GBPIEA) has revealed that the disbursement of their monthly salaries have been delayed since its absorption into the data based system of pay. In this regard a meeting was held recently at its office premises where after discussion the association met the Deputy Director, Government Branch, Tura and his assistance.
According to the association the members as advised by the officer visited the Treasury Office on 9th June where it found that the few data entry operators employed there were inexperienced in operating the software provided by the Government of Meghalaya for generating the pays of the employees and also have no prior experience in preparation of the salaries of the Government Employees.
The association then met the Assistant Project Officer, treasury Office Tura who verbally assured them that she would try her best to streamline the process by the following month.
Following the assurance by the officer the association has decided to adopt a wait and watch policy but warned that it would be forced to knock on the door of the deputy Commissioner to solve the grievances being faced by the employees if the delay in the disbursement of salaries continued.
