SHILLONG, April 21: The Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) will host its 46th Biennial General Assembly at the Mawlai Phudmuri Presbyterian Church, coinciding with the organization’s centenary celebrations.
Senior Administrative Secretary Rev. BR Kharnaior stated that the event is being organised under the KJP Synod Sepngi. The assembly will begin with an inaugural service on April 28 at 7 pm, with the main proceedings scheduled from April 29 to May 3, concluding at the JN Complex.
As part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations, a special program will be held on May 2 at Mawlai Ground.
The event will feature the release of a commemorative souvenir and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the church’s growth in India.
Rev. Kharnaior informed that approximately 2,500 delegates from 12 synods across the country are expected to attend. Participants will represent synods from Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Karbi Anglong, and various regions of Meghalaya and Assam. He expressed hope that the historic gathering would see large participation from believers across the region.
