TURA, April 21: The Bajengdoba branch of AHAM in North Garo Hills has petitioned Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for the establishment of a fire station in the area.
In a memorandum submitted through the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday, the organization highlighted the urgent need for a fire service facility to ensure the safety of local residents.
The group noted that a similar demand was made in November 2023, but no action has been taken by the government. The fresh appeal urged the state to move forward with the project in the interest of public well-being.
