SHILLONG: Though the State Government is expecting early completion of the magisterial probe into the assault of 12 girls in Tura, the probe will be delayed as the magistrate’s father expired recently.
It was on May 10 that the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner ordered the magisterial probe to be headed by Sibhi C.Sadhu, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dadenggre and the deadline to complete the probe was on January 10.
An official source said that since the father of Sadhu expired on Monday, there will be further delay in the completion of the probe.
Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak on Wednesday said in the Assembly that the Government was waiting for the report of the magisterial inquiry report before deciding anything on the demand of the pressure groups to have a high-level probe.
