London: Actor Mel Gibson’s former partner Oksana Grigorieva is reportedly demanding $500,000 as compensation. She claims their violent row has traumatised her 14-year-old son.

Contactmusic.com reports that Grigorieva has claimed Gibson was abusive to her son during the argument, scaring him so much that he hid under the bed, and on another occasion threw him onto a table. However, Gibson denies these allegations.

They are currently processing a custody settlement for their almost two-year-old daughter Lucia and met with a judge Friday to discuss the details. In March, Gibson pleaded no-contest to a charge of battery against Grigorieva and has already completed the community service part of his sentence.

He is currently undergoing a year-long course in anger-management, following a number of leaked recordings of their rows appearing online, in which Gibson was alleged to have used violent, abusive and racist language towards Grigorieva.

“You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship,” said Gibson.

“It’s one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life,” he added. (IANS)
