SHILLONG: In order to bridge a gap on specialized and super-specialized man power besides technical staff in the state, the State Health and Family Welfare Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global Health Hospitals with its units in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai on Tuesday.
In a programme held at Directorate Health Services here on Tuesday, the Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, DP Wahlang signed an agreement with the Chairman and Managing Director of Global Hospitals, K Rabindranath for conducting training programmes in super specialty free of cost, update in Clinical areas, deputations of doctors from Global hospitals to Shillong and vice versa for consultation in OPD services and others related medical assistances. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma said the biggest challenge before the health sector in the state is its difficult terrain.
Because although not matter how best the infrastructures are they will always be confronted with these difficult terrains.
The chief minister also pointed out that even if there is availability of good medical infrastructure in the state nothing would move until and unless there is overall development like better roads.
He also stressed on the Health delivery system saying it needs good attitude people who are friendly, compassionate and dedicated so that the perception of the people on the service is good.
