SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the APL, Additional APL, BPL, Additional BPL, Additional BPL and AAY rice for the month of May and SK Oil for the month of June is being distributed through the respective fair price shops.

For Above Poverty Line (APL) families, rice, including the additional quota, will be distributed at the scale of 24.83 kg per family at the rate of Rs 9.70 per kg every month. For Below Poverty Line (BPL) families the same will be distributed at the scale of 44.34 kg per family at the rate of Rs 6.15 per kg every month.

Families falling in the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) category will be given rice at the scale of 35 kg per family at the rate of Rs 3 per kg a month. SK Oil will be distributed at the scale of 6.5 litres per family at the rate of Rs 16.60 per litre in towns and at the scale of 3.5 litres per family a month in rural areas.

The Commissioner has further urged that any non-supply or overcharging of the rate by the supplier must be brought to the office’s notice with all details.
