JOWAI: In tragic incident, an 8-year-old student, Yoomi Rymbai, died on the spot on Tuesday when a twelve-wheeler truck (NL01D-3840) on its way to Silchar from Guwahati hit him. The deceased, a student of government LP school at Wapungshnong in EJH, was on his way home after the school was over.
Eye witnessed blamed the driver of the truck Sujeet Paul, who fled from the scene after the accident, for the mishap.
Police detained his assistant.
