Global pop star Shakira has shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her final rehearsals ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City. Posting a series of photos on Instagram, the singer showed herself rehearsing with dancers and crew members as preparations entered the final stage before the global event.
Shakira described the past week as a “non-stop” rehearsal period and expressed excitement about performing at one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. She said she was ready to take the stage and meet fans at the opening ceremony.
According to reports, Shakira will perform Dai Dai, the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy. The performance will mark the song’s live debut before a worldwide audience.
The opening ceremony is expected to feature several international stars, including J Balvin, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Tyla and others. Actress Salma Hayek Pinault will also make a special appearance as a World Cup ambassador. The tournament, co-hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States, will feature 48 teams and 104 matches, making it the largest FIFA World Cup ever held. (ANI)
