IIM, Shillong welcomes seventh batch

SHILLONG: The Indian Institute of Management, Shillong on July 4 held the induction programme to welcome its seventh batch comprising of 146 students.

Addressing the fresh crowd, chief guest, Dr. Anjan Ghosh, vice president TMQ, Exide Industries stressed on the opportunities available for managers & entrepreneurs and the scope for improvement through dynamic leadership.

Also present at the event, Institute Director Prof Amitabha De talked about the uniqueness that IIM Shillong has in its pedagogy further pointing out the positive behavioral change that the Institute tries to inculcate in its students through the power of education.

“The aim of education is to have humility in your conduct, passion in your lives and inclusiveness in your thinking and most importantly in striving to be a good human being.”, said Prof De. Indian Institute of Management, Shillong which is presently in its fifth year of operations, is the seventh IIM in the country and the only one in the North East. It recently bagged the coveted Outstanding B-School (EAST) Awards initiated by ABP NEWS National Education Awards in Mumbai. Meanwhile, IIM, Shillong, has been selected for the Global Indian Excellence Summit to be held in London on 21st July at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square
