SHILLONG, June 21: Renowned author Bijoya Sawian has been awarded the Rabindra Ratna Puraskar 2026 for her outstanding contributions to literature. The honour, conferred by the Veyil Foundation, recognizes Sawian’s work in documenting and preserving the cultural heritage of Meghalaya through her writing.
