Mukul inspects enrolment drives under social assistance scheme

AMPATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma personally inspected the enrolment drives under Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme for the infirm, widow and persons with disabilities in Zikzak and Betasing blocks in South West Garo Hills, on Tuesday.

He was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary in-charge Home W D Sangma, Director, Social Welfare and Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh during the inspection.

The Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme was launched in 2012 at Asanang.

The enrolment drives are underway in both these blocks from July 3 to July 16 and help desks with ‘CM’s support teams’ to facilitate the applicants have been set up in different locations in the district.
