SHILLONG, June 24: Construction of the 38-km Shillong Western Bypass is progressing across all three packages despite initial execution challenges, according to official data.
Among the three stretches, Package-I has achieved the highest physical progress at 71%. Package-III has reached 51% completion, while Package-II stands at 47%.
The bypass is designed to ease traffic congestion in Shillong by providing an alternative route for vehicles, reducing pressure on the city’s existing road network and improving overall transportation efficiency.
