Shillong, June 28: The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association (MTA) successfully concluded the fourth National Taekwondo Referee Seminar and Refresher Course 2026 on Sunday after a two-day programme aimed at enhancing the standards of taekwondo officiating.
The seminar, held on June 27 and 28, brought together more than 100 referees and officials from across the region, including participants from Assam and Nagaland, making it one of the largest technical training programmes organised by the association.
The seminar and examination were conducted by A.T. Rajeev, an internationally acclaimed referee who has served as a technical official at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics and 2024 Summer Olympics. During the programme, he guided participants through the latest rules and officiating standards while sharing practical insights from his international experience.According to the MTA, the seminar was organised to strengthen the technical capabilities of referees and prepare officials capable of representing the region at national and international competitions.
The association expressed gratitude to all participants, officials, organisers and supporters for contributing to the successful conduct of the event. It also thanked the volunteers and officers of the 58th GTC for their support in ensuring the smooth organisation of the seminar.
