DC to provide free coaching to competitive exam aspirants

NONGSTOIN: The Office of Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District conducted a workshop cum awareness programme on career guidance and counseling under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance and Counseling Programme at the DC Office, Trysem Hall, Nongstoin on Thursday.

The programme, chaired by S Warjri, MCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner and Nodal officer, West Khasi Hills aimed at generating awareness and motivating youths to avail for the free career guidance and coaching services to be provided by the Government for various competitive examinations like UPSC,SSC Banking, Defense services etc.

Welcoming the participants, Warjri stated that the programme aimed at identifying potential youths, who are capable of appearing in various competitive examinations, and providing them with the facilities, coaching, materials and necessary guidance to excel in their endeavor.

S Warjri further informed that the first pre-admission test to avail for the free coaching services for interested graduates, under graduates and post graduates will be conducted at St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School in Mairang and Nongstoin on July 10 and July 12, respectively.

Earlier, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi District had entered into an MOU with Jain’s Institute, New Delhi in June, 2014 to provide free coaching and counseling services to aspiring youths to help them clear competitive examinations conducted by UPSC, SSC, SSB and others.
