TEXAS, July 4: Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has questioned Portugal’s continued reliance on Cristiano Ronaldo as their starting striker, saying the veteran forward should no longer lead the attack despite the team’s progress to the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ibrahimovic argued that the 41-year-old Ronaldo has lost the mobility and finishing ability that once made him one of the world’s most feared forwards.
“You can’t expect to win anything in 2026 with a 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo leading the attack,” Ibrahimovic said. (Agencies)
