Kuala Lumpur: In a move to make travelling quick and easy, Malaysia Airlines has said that its economy class passengers flying out of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport will now be required to use self-service check-in facilities.
“Passengers have three options, they can check-in through web or mobile at home, or they can come to the airport and check-in through the kiosk,” Malaysia Airlines (MAS) airport services senior manager Mohd Mazlan Md Noor said.
The national carrier said in a statement that the move was intended to save time, but it is also likely to be a means of reducing the airline’s operating costs. “We would like to encourage our customers to use the web or mobile check-in because we want them to have a seamless travel, so they only need to come to the airport and drop their bag, or if they don’t have any check-in bags they can proceed to the gate straightaway,” Noor said.
He estimated the whole process of checking-in via the kiosk, dropping off your bag, and heading to the departure gate to be about five minutes. (PTI)
