SHILLONG, July 11: VPP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit has urged citizens to speak out boldly against corruption, saying those committed to protecting the state should not remain silent.
In a social media post on Saturday, Basaiawmoit said that if “traitors, the corrupt and those who oppress the people” can come forward, then those who want to safeguard the state and eliminate corruption must show even greater courage in speaking up against such practices.
The VPP chief did not name any individual, organisation or specific incident. The post, however, reiterated the party’s anti-corruption stance and its call for public participation in holding those in power accountable.
He urged people who believe in clean governance to remain fearless in raising their voices against corruption and wrongdoing.
