Mumbai-based independent artist, producer, songwriter and creative director Noush!, the stage name of Anoushka Sivasankar, has released her debut single and music video, Snakes and Ladders, marking the launch of her new artistic identity.
Blending Latin pop, dance and contemporary pop, the track introduces Noush! as a multidisciplinary artist whose work combines music, storytelling, visual art, performance and creative direction.
Produced by Noush! alongside Ramon Ibrahim, the single explores the complexities of responsibility in relationships through the metaphor of the classic board game Snakes and Ladders. Inspired by the phrase “it takes two to tango”, the song reflects on personal accountability, conflict and the importance of letting go of burdens that do not belong to us.
The track features groove-driven percussion, rich harmonies and contemporary production influenced by Latin rhythms, cinematic storytelling and Bollywood music. It was mixed and mastered by Hersh Desai at Island City Studios in Mumbai.
The accompanying music video draws inspiration from classic telenovelas and Indian television dramas and also marks Noush!’s emergence as a performer, actor and dancer. With a background in musical theatre, she says acting has long been part of her creative expression, while dance will play a central role in her future work.
