Assam tourist injured at Elephant Falls

SHILLONG, July 22: A tourist from Assam sustained head injuries after slipping at Elephant Falls in Upper Shillong on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred while the man was visiting the site with his family. Security personnel from the San Shnong Youth Welfare Organisation (SSYWO) assisted in transporting the injured man to the Pomlum Primary Health Centre (PHC) for emergency care.
After receiving first aid, doctors referred him to Civil Hospital, Shillong, for further treatment and observation.
SSYWO general secretary Iarap Rynjah confirmed the incident, stating that the organisation’s security responded promptly to ensure the visitor was moved to a medical facility without delay. The tourist’s current condition has not yet been confirmed.
