SHILLONG: Former Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills, Chinmay P Gotmare, who was recently posted as the Director of Higher and Technical Education in Shillong took exception to the statement of All A’chik Youth Federation (AAYF) that he was not attending duty as DC in South Garo Hills.

“I had been transferred vide order no. PER. 36/2011/Pt.II/62-A dated 16th June, 2014 and took charge as Director of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya at Shillong on 27th June, 2014. I can’t be at two places at the same time…I am in my office at Shillong as dutifully required,” Gotmare said while reacting to a news report in this regard.

Gotmare added that it pained him to be at the receiving end of a “mindless rant by the ignorant NGO”, which accused him of negligence of duty.

“This is even more painful considering the fact that I have twice faced bullets in the line of duty but never flinched from my tasks,” the former South Garo Hills DC said.
