Five killed in separate accidents

SHILLONG: As many as five persons were killed and scores injured in road accident in three separate incidents in the last 48 hours in parts of the state.

On July26 at around 11 am, one Maruti Alto K-10 car (AS-01-BL-0160) driven by Rajiv Ingty (21) skidded off the road at Madan Lyntad, Saitbakon under Pynursla police station in East Khasi Hills. As a result, the driver died on the spot while five other occupants sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital,Shillong where one of the injured victims Sparton Goswami succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier, on July 25 at around 5 am, one Tata Sumo (AS-01-DD-9122) driven by Md. Sahajan Ahmed Laskar (28) skidded off the road and hit a tree at Khapmara Shillong By-pass (Ri Bhoi). As a result, the driver and one occupant Md. Amar Uddin (20) died on the spot while 11 others sustained injuries.

Again on July 24 at around 1.45 pm, one vehicle (ML-10A-8406) driven by KS Nousia Jana (25) collided with a truck (NL-01G-7651) at Mawpun Shillong By-pass (RB). As a result, the driver died on the spot while six others sustained injuries.
