Meritorious students felicitated

NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Students Union, Mairang Circle, conferred the “Tirot Sing Academy Award 2014” on 16 SSLC, HSSLC and degree level meritorious students at a felicitation programme held at Pyndenumiong Community Hall, Mairang on Saturday.
The KSU, with the North Eastern Economic Development Society (NEEDS), also organised a Youth Education Counseling programme on the same day at the said venue.
The felicitation programme was attended by Metbah Lyngdoh local MLA and MDC as the chief guest, Lambokstar Marngar, KSU finance secretary as the guest of honour and others including M Diengdoh, KSU Mairang  president; S Thapa and M Suian, counselor and secretary of NEEDS, Meghalaya.
Lyngdoh, while lauding the efforts of KSU Mairang Circle in encouraging the students, also praised the Union for organising the counseling programme and congratulated the students on their achievements.
“We are proud to have such excellent students and with such felicitations we hope students of Mairang in future will aim higher and come out with flying colours in future,” Lyngdoh said.
He further urged the students to excel in their professional fields and contribute to the society with their gained expertise.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries handed over the awards to the 16 meritorious students.
