Police identify female body

SHILLONG: Police have identified the semi-clad female body which was recovered from a river at Demseiniong.

Police said that relatives have identified the body as that of Shoma Khongwir (28) of Hotel Pinewood residential quarters, Shillong. The victim was reportedly missing from her residence since July 27.

Police suspect that the deceased was murdered.

When contacted, police said that the matter is under investigation and they are awaiting the post mortem report.
