SHILLONG: A one-day State level technical seminar on “Veterinary: Present Context and Future Challenges ” organized by the Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association (MVSA), Shillong was held at Queen’sResort, Upper Shillong on Friday.

Minister in charge, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Deborah Marak who was the chief guest at the inaugural function, stressed on the need to further diversify the agricultural sector and to upgrade the present livestock and poultry farms as it can provide employment opportunities and generate revenue for the State.

She also pointed out that development will be realized only if the Government along with the veterinary machinery is willing to focus their activities and implement the developmental schemes in rural areas.
