HNLC bandh call illogical, says KHADC CEM

SHILLONG: KHADC CEM Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Tuesday termed the 48-hour bandh called by the HNLC as ‘unjustified and illogical’.

The HNLC has called a three-day bandh starting from 6 pm of August 13 to 6 pm of August 15 in protest against the NGT ban on rate hole mining in Meghalaya and the customary boycott of the Independence Day celebrations.

“Bandh should be called for a genuine cause. Personally, I do not see any justification in this total shutdown call,” Basaiawmoit said while addressing a public meeting at Iewduh on Tuesday.
