Bangalore: Newly appointed Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala will take oath of office on September one. Vala will take oath of office at a function to be held at Raj Bhavan on September 1 at 5 PM, an official release said here on Friday. Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court D H Waghela will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new Governor. 76-year-old Vala is an old trusted aide of Modi who served in his Government as Finance Minister before he was elected as Speaker of Gujarat Vidhan Sabha in January last year. Vala will take over from Rosaiah, Tamil Nadu Governor who holds the additional charge of Karnataka, post the retirement of H R Bharadwaj on June 28. (PTI)
