MPSC postpones examination
SHILLONG: A large number of candidates, who came to appear in the written examination of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission on Saturday for the post of Primary Investigator/ Computer under the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, had to return without writing the paper as no one turned up to conduct the examination in their respective centres.
The aggrieved candidates said that they were not intimated about the postponement of the examination.
Another examination which did not take place on the same day was that of Statistical Officers under the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (from 2 pm to 4pm).
The candidates, who turned up in large numbers, said that the MPSC should have sent postponement notices to them.
There were several candidates who came from Garo Hills and other far flung areas of the state to appear in the two examinations.
When checked the website of MPSC, a notification was found posted on August 21 which said that the written examination of August 30 has been postponed to September 27.
The notification in the website said, “Intimation letters to the candidates will be sent accordingly”.
Sources said that the MPSC should adopt some innovative methods to reach out the candidates instead of just posting notices in the website which is not seen by the applicants from the rural areas.
