Riatsamthiah ride on K. Mylliem’s brace

SHILLONG: Riding on K. Mylliem’s brace, Riatsamthiah scripted a 3-0 win over Krang in a Second Division football match here at Polo Grounds on Tuesday. Mylliem scored in the 23rd and 45th minutes.

S. Kurbah found the nets in the 65th minute to make it 3-0.

In a Third Division game, Lumpyngad routed Lapalang 2-0 after the latter side failed to provide much competition. W. Kharkongor scored the first goal in the 14th minute while G. Kharbyngar added the second in the 38th minute.

Meanwhile, Mylliem failed to hold back Mawkriah West as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Third Division match on Tuesday. J. Nongbri scored the lone goal in the 42nd minute.

On Wednesday, Nongumlong and Nongthymmai will meet in a Second Division match at 4 pm at Ground III. In Third Division, Umphyrnai will take on Pynthorbah at 1:30 pm at Ground II while Nongrim Hills and Marbisu play at 4pm at the same venue.

BSF beat BGB in friendly football

SHILLONG: A friendly football match between BSF and BGB was organized on Monday in the area of Mahederganj Border Outpost of 23 Bn BSF, South West Garo Hills district

From BGB side – S K Moniruzzaman, Deputy Director General BGB, Sector Commander Mymensingh, along with five officers, five JCOs and 25 others including players participated.

From BSF side -M S Rathore, DIG SHQ BSF Tura with five Commandants of Tura location and seven Officers as well as three thousand local people witnessed the friendly match

BSF won the match by 2-0 and these sporting events are organized as part of confidence building measures between the two friendly Border Guarding Forces.
