Mukul appoints 5 MDCs in corporations, commissions

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has given nod to appointment of five Congress MDCs as the Vice Chairman to various corporations and Commissions in the State.

With the fresh appointments, the number of political appointees under the MUA-II headed by Sangma stands at 81.

In the latest list, while Manstudy Nongrem ( Langrin) has been appointed as Vice Chairman , Meghalaya State Law Commission, Niel Antonio War ( Laitumkhrah-Malki) will be the Vice Chairman, Meghalaya Cherra Cement Limited.

Lamphrang Blah (Mawphlang-Diengiei), will be the Vice Chairman, Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation and Donevan Wanlang ( Sohra), has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Meghalaya Fish Farmers Development Agency.

Banteidor Lyngdoh (Mawkynrew) will hold charge as Vice Chairman Non -Conventional and Rural Energy Development Agency.

All the Vice Chairpersons will enjoy the perks and facilities under the category of B.

The facilities under the B category of political appointees include monthly honorarium (Rs7,500), conveyance (Rs 7,500), free medical treatment for the incumbent only for treatment outside the state as recommended by the DHS(MI), electricity (Rs 1,000 per month), house rent (Rs 5,000), hospitality (Rs 1000 per month) and a grade 4 peon in office.

TA/DA is subject to a maximum of Rs 8,000 per month for local tours. Tours outside the state will be permissible if the same is performed as a Committee.

As MDCs, they also avail salaries, and TA/DA including other perks from KHADC.
