SHILLONG: For the first time ever, Shillong will witness a ‘Jazz and Blues Festival’ organised by Image Nation in collaboration with the State Art and Culture department at U Soso Tham Auditorium on September 24 at 2 pm.

The festival will feature a total number of 30 musicians and eight music bands. Among the prominent names that will be performing at the Jazz festival include Rudy Wahlang band featuring Andrea, 4th element, Parvati la cantante, Plan B, Arjun Sen, M-Trio, Lou Majaw, Ronajit and Fringes.

Informing about this event here on Saturday, noted guitarist and musician Lou Majaw said that the festival will be a new experience for the music lovers of Shillong.

“In any music festival be it Jazz, Blues, Rock, Reggae or any other kind of music, there will be a space of freedom of expression and spirituality,” Majaw said.

“The main aim of the festival is spread the message of ‘positive change to Shillong through music’, since there is too much negativity in today’s world and in what better ways can this message be spread but through music; it is also meant to bring hope to the youths to build the city of Shillong,” he added.

Meanwhile, it was informed that tickets will be available at the venue itself. A special attraction during the Jazz festival will be the food court where Indonesian food will be served.
