Three more captured in businessman murder case

Itanagar: In a major success, Arunachal Police has arrested three more persons related to brutal murder of prominent businessman KP Chacko.
According to SP, Capital Complex, Seju P. Kuruvilla in a press release informed on Wednesday that city police laid an ambush at Holongi area and arrested three persons yesterday. The three arrested are Gunda Basumatary, 21yr, Dhemaji district of Assam, Dora Tadu 22 yr, P-Sector, Itanagar and Bikram Boro 18yr, Gohpur, Assam.
Police also recovered one pistol, 4 live rounds, one fired empty cartridge, one stolen motor cycle, 6 mobile phones and 9 SIM cards.
Acting on a specific information, the police team led by SDPO Naharlagun Jumar Basar laid a trap and intercepted the trio. During the operation accused fired at the police team and tried to flee.
In response, the police opened fire and all the three accused have been caught. They have been admitted in R K Mission Hospital as they received bullet injury during the operation. With the arrest of the three persons, a total number of seven accused have been arrested so far in the Chako’s kidnapping and murder case.
Chacko was kidnapped on 28th August from his Naharlagun rented accommodation. His decomposed body was found few days later from Chiputa near Doimukh. SP further informed that investigation is in progress to arrest more persons. (UNI)
